Simple Summary Epidemiological studies have identified a link between neurodegenerative disorders and a reduced risk of overall cancer. Increases and decreases in the risk of site-specific cancers have also been reported. However, it is still unknown whether these associations arise due to shared genetic and molecular factors or are explained by other phenomena (e.g., biases in epidemiological studies or the use of medication). Does Music Therapy Improve Anxiety and Depression in Alzheimer's Patients?

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of a short protocol of music therapy as a tool to reduce stress and improve the emotional state in patients with mild Alzheimer's disease. METHODS: A sample of 25 patients with mild Alzheimer's received therapy based on the application of a music therapy session lasting 60 min. Before and after the therapy, patient saliva was collected to quantify the level of salivary cortisol using the Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay (ELISA) immunoassay technique and a questionnaire was completed to measure anxiety and depression (Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale). RESUMEN Objetivos: Conocer la prevalencia de la incontinencia fecal (IF) en los pacientes con Enfermedad Inflamatoria Intestinal Crónica (EIIC) y analizar su impacto en la calidad de vida. Métodos: Estudio prospectivo aleatorizado, descriptivo y analítico en 726 pacientes con EIIC (Enfermedad de Crohn (EC) y Colitis Ulcerosa (CU)) pertenecientes al departamento de salud del Hospital Clínico de Valencia.
